Why should I purchase a pump for fountains?
The Fontana ADV range was created as a complete line of pumps specifically designed to recreate movement in any pond. The lively fountains, calm bells and bubbling geysers will ensure a spectacular display in your pond and a continuous supply of oxygen: an important contribution to maintaining the ecological balance of the pond. Designed to withstand the many complex operating conditions that may be present in an ornamental pond, the pumps in the Fontana ADV line include many technical details that ensure efficiency, practical use and reliability over time, always giving considerable attention to minimising consumption.
Where should the pump for fountains be positioned?
FONTANA ADV pumps for ponds must be used underwater. It is well understood that installing a pump in a pond is the most popular and safe method because it allows a continuous supply of water to the pump.
To this purpose and especially for pumps to be used for water features, it is a good idea to install them in a position slightly above the bottom of the pond. This will prevent the pump from coming into direct contact with any sediment that accumulates at the bottom, which can dirty the sponge filter and reduce the extent of the water feature. If this should occur, you will need to remove the pump from the pond and clean the water inlet and the sponge filter.
How can I get the best results from my product?
With flow rates that range from 800 l/h to 8,200 l/h and the presence of a pre-filter that prevents dirt and debris from clogging and damaging the water features, all these pumps have a specific “Fountain kit” included in the pack. It has two water features and a telescopic connection hose with a dual tap that allows sprays to be positioned in the correct position regardless of the depth and tilt of the pump positioned at the bottom.
The two taps allow the height of the water feature and any filter, ornamental figure or rock source to be monitored at the same time. TIP: to prevent the wind from directing the water jet out of the pond, it is a good idea to adjust the height of the spray so that it is less than the shortest distance between the water feature and the edge of the pond.
How can I ensure the durability of the pump?
Rotating parts need to be regularly accessed for cleaning therefore we do not recommend using any chemical detergents but carefully follow the instructions included in the pack.
Useful tips:
The pump must not be operated dry.
FONTANA ADV 800: the pump motor is self-protected against irregular overheating caused by misuse, running-dry or a jammed rotor.
FONTANA ADV 1200-2300-3000: the pump motor is provided with a self-resetting thermal protector. If the pump stops working, please investigate if the thermal
cut-off has been activated by first disconnecting the appliance from the electrical supply for approximately
1 hour. Then remove the cause that made the appliance stop, and connect it to the socket again.
FONTANA ADV 4500-6000-8000: the pump is provided with an electronic device for rotation control and evaluating operating conditions. If there is a lack of water or a blocked rotor, the pump recognises the problem. After 10 attempts (FONTANA ADV 8000: 5 attempts) to start again, in the space of 1 minute, the pump switches off completely. In this case, unplug and remove the cause of the problem. After connecting the pump again, it will resume operation.

Why should I purchase a pump for waterfalls and filtering systems?
To obtain an ornamental pond that is healthy and attractive, you need to ensure that filtering is continuous and effective. The pumps in the Cascata ADV range are explicitly designed to convey large amounts of water to the filtering systems of the Newa Pond line, but thanks to their structural sturdiness and to powerful motors with extremely low energy consumption they can easily supply water to streams, waterfalls and rocks.
Reliable and safe, all Cascata ADV pumps operate without a pre-filter, even under the most difficult conditions, easily removing dirt particles of various dimensions.
Where should the pump for waterfalls and filtering systems be positioned?
The CASCATA ADV pumps for ponds can be installed either submerged or completely external.
It is clear that installing a pump in a pond is the most popular and safe method because it allows a continuous supply of water to the pump. For use in a completely external position, the pump must be installed in a previously prepared hole at the edge of the pond. When the front grid of the WATERFALL is removed and the inlet and outlet hoses are connected, maintenance and monitoring operations can be performed without touching the pond.
How can I get the best results from my product?
Choosing the most appropriate pump mainly depends on 4 factors:
– The hydraulic head that bridges the gap between the surface of the pond and the highest point of the stream, from where the water will pour out. The higher the pump needs to raise the water, the lower the amount of water that will be supplied.
– The length, diameter and flexibility of the hose that connects the pump to the top of the stream (hoses with small diameters, elbows and connectors, considerably reduce water flow).
– The presence of other applications supplied by the same pump (ornamental figures, water features, etc.).
– The width of the stream or waterfall, expressed by the flow rate of the pump.
We recommend choosing a slightly oversized pump, and if the flow rate proves excessive, applying a flow rate adjuster (tap) will easily solve the problem. For a more sensible choice, we recommend reading the performance data on the packs and in the NEWA Pond catalogue.

Why should I purchase a pressure filter?
The pond is a closed system that requires continuous purification to prevent the accumulation of toxic substances in order to maintain the best conditions in your pond. To prevent irreparable damage to the delicate balance of this fantastic underwater nature corner, the filter plays a vital role in monitoring and maintaining the chemical-organic properties of the water through retention of suspended matter. It reduces the toxicity of some elements, oxygenates the water and keeps it clear via three filtering stages: mechanical, biological and chemical.
As it operates under pressure, PREXO ADV guarantess no loss in performance output, making it ideal for creating streams and waterfalls.
Where should the pressure filter be positioned?
Place the filter at least 1 metre from the edge of the pond, making sure that it cannot fall into the water, not even accidentally, and so that the area where it is placed is not subject to flooding or overflow. PREXO ADV is easy to conceal, as it can be partially buried next to the pond.
How does the pressure filter work?
On entering the pressure filter, the water in the pond, supplied by the pump, is first exposed to UV rays that eliminate bacteria and algae in suspension. Then it is poured back into the pond after being passed through various filtering media that ensure optimum support for bacterial colonization, and therefore a high level of biological filtration.
5 FILTER LEVELS FOR PERFECT WATER ALL THE TIME:
1 – UVC WATER CLARIFIER: This removes free-floating green algal cells and bacteria that make water turbid and smell. It attacks and destroys pathogenic agents that are harmful to fish and makes water transparent without using chemical products. The operation can be seen from the outside through the transparent pipe-fittings.
2- SPONGE FILTERS: 2 layers of sponge trap all dirt that has escaped the other filtering media. The large filtering surface of the sponges also allows nitrifying bacteria to develop and carry out additional biological filtering. As the container is hermetically sealed (the filter works under pressure), bacterial colonies develop more quickly and more effectively than normal open filters.
3- NEWAQUA BIOGLOBE: These are equipped with a structure designed to obtain the maximum ratio between the available surface area and their size. Thanks to their unique shape, they can reduce in diameter without impeding water flow. This allows twice the amount of bacterial flora normally found in standard bioballs to be accommodated, optimizing biological filtration.
4- NEWAQUA KINSHY SPONGE: This is a unique filter media designed for filtering ponds containing large fish, such as Koi carp. It is made of an innovative electro-welded PVC fibre and has an anti-clogging mechanical action that allows it to fully satisfy mechanical and biological functions. The extreme resistance to wear of the fibres can withstand significantly higher amounts of pollutants than normal sponges.
5 – CHAMBER FOR COLLECTING WASTE: Thanks to innovative design, most large solid sediment is gradually deposited in a designated area at the bottom of the container. When the Backwash system is activated, this accumulated dirt is flushed out, thus less frequent maintenance is necessary.
How can I get the best results from my product?
You can activate the Backwash system while the filter is in operation by turning the knob on top of the filter to the “CLEAN” position. PREXO is equipped with a Backwash system (water flow inversion), which allows rapid filter cleaning without having to open or dismantle the filter.
To do this, carefully follow the instructions attached to the pack. To clean more thoroughly, you must remove the various filter media from the filter and wash them under running water. Do not use chemical detergents.
For optimum filter performance, it is advisable to replace the lamp about every 4,000 hours (one season).

Why should I purchase a UV filter for a pond?
UV filters are devices that sterilize thanks to a built-in UVC lamp. These filters remove algae and protect your fish from pathogens, making the water clean and crystal clear without using chemicals.
Where should the UV filter be positioned?
The UVC filters can operate as a single filtering system or combined with other mechanical or biological filters. UVC filters must not be submerged in water. The area where they are positioned must not be subject to flooding or overflow.
How can I get the best results from my product?
The adjustment of the UV filter is closely linked to the performance of the pump used.
If pumps with a low flow rate are used, a mainly curative sterilization process will be obtained, since it is designed to remove all types of living pathogenic or non-pathogenic microbe from the water.
Instead, when the pumps are used with a high flow rate, a clarification process will be achieved, designed to prevent pathogenic situations and the proliferation of single-celled organisms responsible for the formation of filamentous algae.
How can I ensure the durability of the UV filter?
These filters do not require any special maintenance. It is advisable to clean the quartz pipe if it should be particularly dirty. For optimum filter performance, it is advisable to replace the lamp about every 4,000 hours (one season).
